CJM rejects bail applications in cement scam

Jammu, Sept 19- Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu YP Bourney today rejected three bail applications in a common order filed by Samer Singh & Ors, Ajay Singh, Vijay Kumar and Ors, who were arrested by the Domana police in a cement scam case.
While rejecting the three bail applications filed by the accused persons against whom case u/s 420 RPC and 6/13 Hoarding and Profiteering Act, CJM observed that investigation is at initial stage and it is not in the larger interest of the public to release the accused persons on bail, as such bail applications are rejected.
According to the police report on September 9, 2009 police received information from its source and raided the stores of arrested Samer Singh and Vijay Singh who were found filling local brand Rajesthani Extra Power Brand Cement into famous ACC and Ambuja brand bags . While the cost of Rajesthani Extra Power Brand Cement is around Rs 190 per bag the cost of branded bags is more than Rs 300 per bag. The sample of cement seized was sent to FSL for testing. JNF
