| CUAS stages demonstration on central university issue | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sep 19 Activists of Central University Andolan Samiti today held protest demonstrations at various tehsil headquarters in Jammu in support of the demand for setting up of the central university in Samba area.
Groups of about 30-40 persons held demonstrations at Nowshera, Rajouri, Samba, Hiranagar and Udhampur for since 1030 hours today, official sources said adding the protestors also tried to burn effigies of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Convenor of CUAS Pavitar Singh said that demonstrations were staged at different tehsil headquarters of the province in protest against stoic silence maintained by Abdullah on CU issue.He said that future strategy will be chalked out during meeting of district and tehsil convenors and co-convenors here on October 2.
Singh said that CUAS was also launching awareness campaign throughout the province to intensify the ongoing agitation.
