| PDP seeks immediate increase in Haj quota | | |
Srinagar, September 30:Calling upon the Central Government to take immediate steps for raising Haj quota for Jammu & Kashmir state, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti here on Saturday said if separatists are allowed to visit Pakistan, Europe and America, there is no reason to deny a person the right to proceed for Haj pilgrimage.
Stating that stopping a pilgrim from performing Haj at the last minute is tantamount to exploitation of his religious sentiments, Ms Mufti said that denying pilgrimage to those having left home for the holly trip is a procedure which needs to be changed, Ms Mufti impressed upon the Central Government to immediately resolve the issue of raising Haj quota for Jammu and Kashmir State and end chaos and confusion. |
