Srinagar, September 30: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, S.M Sahai here on Saturday said that 800 militant active in the state instead taking on security forces directly are hiring drug addict and jobless youth for carrying attacks. Talking to KNS after visiting Sopore, Sahai rule out presence of Alqaida in valley, but claimed heavy presence of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen cadres in Kashmir. Calling upon foreign militants to leave valley and advising local cadres to join national mainstream , Sahai said that 24000 youth have been rehabilitated under State Government's surrender policy so for. Announcing that five new battalions of IRP are being created to specially recruit local youth, Sahai termed the decision a good will gesture of the State Government. Touching upon the issue of women's sexual exploitation case, Sahai said that the main accused in Handwara sexual exploitation case have been arrested and challans have been produced against them. Sahai said that the main aim of his Sopore visit was to ensure better coordination and harmonious relations between the security forces and people at large for protecting human rights in the area. He was accompanied by DIG, Baramulla-Kupwara range Mohd Subhan Lone and other senior police officers of the area.
