Over 15,000 pay obeisance
Akhand Joyti arrives at Pingla Mata Shrine

RAMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 20 -A large number of devotees accompanied the 23rd Akhand Joyti of Pingla Mata from Ramnagar town to pay their obeisance at the Shrine of Pingla Mata situated on a scenic hill top in village Pinger of Tehsil Ramnagar in District Udhampur, this morning. Over 15,000 devotees have visited the Shrine, site so far to offer prayers on second day of Navratra.

Administration has made adequate arrangements of security, drinking water and power supply, medicare and sanitation in Ramnagar and at the Shrine. The departments of PHE, PDD and PWD, Akhand Joyti Committee and other social organizations of Katra and other areas arranged free langers from the base camp Kouga to Shrine site for the convenience of yatris.

Earlier on first day of Navratra, MLA Ramnagar, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh lit the sacred Akhand Joyti at Pingla Mata Chabutra, Ghass Mandi, Ramnagar . The organizer, Akhand Joyti Committee, Ramnagar, Mr. Vinay Jandial, prominent persons, officers and devotees in huge number were present on the occasion.

Mr. Singh lauded the efforts of Akhand Joyti Committee, administration and social organization for the smooth conduct of the yatra and said that the yatra is witnessing a heavy rush of pilgrims every year.

For creation of infrastructure at Pingla Mata Shrine at village Pinger, the MLA announced Rs.5 lacs from his constituency development fund for construction of a Sarai besides distributing wheel chair, sticks etc. to physically challenged persons.

The schedule of activities includes inauguration of Navratra Festival with presentation of Bhaints and Bhajans at 6 p.m. daily at Ramnagar town from Septermber 21 to 26, 2009, Kanya Poojan, Arti and distribution of O.P. Jandial Sadhbhwna awards on Sept.27 at 6 p.m.
