Meanwhile night curfew has been imposed in Bandipora township. Reports reaching Srinagar indicate that militants blew up a landmine to target troopers of 42 RR at Marhama Bijbehara and two troopers sustained injuries. Hizb-ul-Mujahideen claimed the responsibility for the attack during which the outfit claims to have killed three troopers and injured two others. Meanwhile militants lobed a grenade to target an army convoy at around 10.30 A.M, but they missed the target and grenade exploded on the road resulting in injuries to class XII student Moomina Akhter D/O Ab Rahim Elahi R/O Pattan . Reports also indicate that troopers of 57 RR have pasted posters in Bandipora through which people have been asked to remain confined to their homes from 9.00 P.M to 5.00 A.M. Protesting against the imposition of night curfew, the locals have alleged that the main purpose of the decision is to stop people from offering prayers . However an army spokesman while clarifying the reports said that the decision would be implemented after the holly month of Ramadan. However those coming out for prayers have been asked to carry with them the traditional kashmiri lanterns.
