| PK delegation visits agitating KP migrants at Nagrota | | ‘Reign of terror let loose on hapless camp inmates’ | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 20- To express solidarity with the people sitting on dharna for the last one month a delegation of Panun Kashmir today visited Nagrota camp. The delegation among others comprised President, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, National Spokesman Virender Raina, Shiban Khaibri, and Ravinder Punjabi. The delegation visited the ORT camp where a large gathering was sitting on dharna for the last one month. Expressing solidarity with the agitators the delegation reiterated the demand of employment package for 15000 KP youth with age relaxation, enhancement of relief to Rs.10, 000 and compensation to the other groups. The delegation took serious note of a reign of terror let loose on the hapless people residing in one-room tenements. The delegation alleged forcible eviction of bonafide people and arbitrary allotment of dwelling units, besides registration of false cases against the camp dwellers. The delegation further alleged that in some cases complaints have even been made against people to their employers to take action against them and maintained that these tactics are unbecoming of the officials of the government that are supposed to uphold the rule of law and human rights of the displaced community. Speaking on the occasion Ashwani Chrungoo said that the constitution of the so-called Apex Committee by the government was to divert the attention of the people from the one month long agitation in the camps. The decision of the Panun Kashmir to disassociate from the so called Apex committee has clearly established that rehabilitation and return are two different problems and need to be dealt with separately. National Spokesman Virender Raina said that the matter was taken up with the National security Advisor at Delhi on September 14 when a delegation of Panun Kashmir met him. The NSA had assured the delegation that the demands of the agitating Kashmiri Pandits would be met before Prime Minister’s visit to the state.
