| Tribal Foundation’s national body reconstituted | | Rahi elected for 5th term as Secretary TRCF | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 20- The annual general body meeting of Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation –a National organization of Gujjars was held here today to elect the new national body for 2009-2011.Renowned Gojri writer Ch Ghulam Sarwar Chouhan was elected as National President while Ch Vijinder Singh Kassana from New Delhi will be the vice-president.
This is for the 5th time that Dr. Javaid Rahi was elected as National Secretary of the organization. Renowned broadcaster Ch. Hussan Parwaz and scientist Dr. Zubeer Ahmed Bajad were elected as joint secretaries and Prof Arif Sajjad as financial adviser. Mohammad Anwar Chowdhary and Shiekh Shakeel Ahmed were appointed legal advisers of the Foundation.
The Tribal Foundation is recognized by the State and union Government and has around 3,000 members all over India including 1200 registered members from Jammu and Kashmir.
After conclusion of election, Dr. Javaid Rahi told that the Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation is primarily focusing on Gujjars and is working on a number of projects in the State of J&K. In order to expend its working we are going to hold elections in 11 States of India to constitute state level bodies where sizeable population of Gujjars are residing.
