| 2 ultras killed, 7 held in different operations | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 20: Seven suspected militants were arrested in Doda and Srinagar districts of Jammu and Kashmir and five kg RDX, a hand grenade and a rifle recovered from them, police said today. Meanwhile, two unidentified militants were killed in a fierce gun-battle in Kupwara district of North Kashmir today, a senior police officer said. The militants were killed in Kachihama-Douban forest in Trehgam belt, 120 kms from here, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kupwara, Uttam Chand said. The encounter started this afternoon when a joint party of police and army confronted a group of militants hiding in the forest area, he said, adding the identity and group affiliation of the slain militants were yet to be established. The operation in the area was continuing Reports reaching here said that on a tip-off, police raided a hideout in Ghar Sungle village in Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district yesterday and arrested three militants. A 12-bore rifle, two letter pads of Lashker-e-Toiba, 17 electrical detonators, a wireless set and a cigarette packet containing explosive sticks were recovered from them.In another operation, police arrested four suspected militants at Zewan area on the outskirts of the Srinagar city last night. A hand grenade was recovered from the possession of the arrested persons, they said. Meanwhile, an exchange of fire took place between security forces and militants in Kremhoora forest in Zachaldara, 125 kms from Srinagar, early today.
