9/21/2009 11:14:53 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 21- Coming to the rescue of inhabitants of village Sharerna Kalan of Doda district, seeking road connectivity as per the plan, Justice Mohammed Yaqoob Mir of Jammu and Kashmir High Court observed that the submission is not only genuine but is quite apposite. The Court directed the District Development Commissioner Doda to look into the grievance of the petitioners by ascertaining the actual/factual position regarding road connectivity for the village Sharerna Kalan and to ensure that road connectivity as per approved plan is strictly adhered to. Even otherwise it shall be open for him to consider the construction of road for village Sharerna Kalan and its connectivity as shall be permissible, the Court pointed out.
The grievance of in-habitants of village Sharerna Kalan is that road connectivity program taken up includes construction of road from village Shiva to Allal Bani and as per the approved plan village Sharerna Kalan was also included in the area for construction of road. It is further stated that petitioners facing odd situation for want of road connectivity had time and again represented before the concerned authorities and also to the Chief Minister with the hope that their demand would be conceded
Advocate V B Gupta appearing for the petitioners submitted that due to some political interference the road alignment is being changed thus depriving the inhabitants of the village of road connectivity. He further submitted that the grievance of the petitioners will be redressed in case the DDC is directed to look into the plan prepared for road connectivity JNF.
