Jammu, Sep 21: Mr Singh International, turban pride, 2009 (an event of Akal Purkh Ki Fauj, Amritsar organized Mr Singh international (Jammu audition) yesterday at Ranjit College of Education, Kunjwani. Deputy chairman, Jammu and Kashmir legislative council Arvinder Singh Micky was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Micky congratulated Manmeet Singh, chairman of Ranjit Educational Trust and Sarabjeet Singh and their associated for organizing this wonderful mega event of Mr Singh international, turban pride. He said Sikh youth have the matchless personality, good physique and intellect mind and this is the only blessings of the great Gurus and the right guidance from ‘Sri Guru Granth Sahib’. While referring the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Singh said that when India was facing financial crises then it was only the efforts and intellect of the both the turbaned economists which brought India out of this crises. He further mentioned that only this Sikh youth has excelled in every field at the national and international platform. He hoped that the five sikh youths selected for zonal level of Mr Singh international to be held at Amritsar in near future will excel with their talent.
As per press release total 13 Sikh youths from the state of Jammu and Kashmir participated in this mega event and out of them five selected for zonal and international Mr Singh to be held at Amritsar in next month include Maninder Singh, Sukhvinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Amandeep Singh and Sahibdeep Singh. S. JP Singh IPS, SSP, Crime, Jammu and Kashmir police, S Charandeep Singh KAS, Chief Revenue Officer, Municipal Corporation, Jammu, S. Hardeep Singh Gill, Dy. SP, JKP, S. Jagjit Singh, S. Manmeet Singh, founder and chairman, Ranjit Educational Trust (Regd) Jathedar Harpal Singh and Prof Bhupinder Singh from Amritsar were among the edjucators of the event.
During the event ‘Gatka’ a popular folk martial arts was also performed by the youths of Gatka Akhara from Gadi Garh and Rehari which was highly appreciated by the audience. The main attraction of todays performances was the newly formed Sikh Rock Band who performed first time on stage in this event also enthralled the audience with their melodious and stylish performances.
A large number of prominent personalities from the community, parents, students, staff and management of the Rajit College of Education, local witnessed this mega event.
