| Security upped at railway station | | | Early Times report Jammu, Sep 22 : Security has been beefed up within and outside the Jammu Tawi Railway Station here following fresh threats from anti-national elements of disrupting Navratra festival sources today said. Acting swiftly on the intelligence inputs that militants may strike at the railway station, security has been strengthened while additional troops have also been deployed at all the entry and exit points. ‘’Though there were threats of spoiling the festival as lakhs of pilgrims are reaching here to visit Mata Vaishno Devi, checking has been increased and surveillance is also being maintained by the special teams,’’ DySp Railways Dushyant Sharma told UNI. He said with the rise in recent infiltration attempts from across the border and reported entry of terrorists into the Indian territory, the security cover at all the vulnerable points, including the Railway Station, have been raised. ‘’Apart from deployment of troops, strengthened frisking and additional check points, closed circuit cameras are also keeping a close watch on suspicious movements,’’ the DySP added. Lakhs of pilgrims from across the country are reaching this 'city of temples' to proceed for Katra town, the base camp of Vaishno Devi to pay obeisance at the shrine situated in Trikuta Hills of Reasi district.
