| Over 30,000 pay obeisance at Merhada Mata | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 22 -Over 20,000 devotees visited the ancient temple of Merhada Mata to pay obeisance on the second day of Navratras, when the Akhand Jyoti of Merhada Mata in Ramnagar, Udhampur reached there in a procession of devotees chanting bhajans and kirtans. The ancient spot of Merhada Mata is held in great faith by thousands of devotees not only from Ramnagar but also by devotees hailing from as far as Chenani, Udhampur and even Jammu Adequate arrangements of stay, drinking water and power supply have been made jointly by the administration and Merhada Mata Management Committee, Ghordi while some other social organisations have arranged free pandals for the devotees’ enroute which include at Nalla Ghouran, Bekhater, Sheetla Mata tempe Kotla, Ganpati, Galua and Merhada Mata. So far over 30,000 devotees had had the darshan of Merhada Mata during the Navratras and the numbers are expected to touch record 50,000 mark. Another Akhand Jyoti of Merhada Mata, which was lit at village Barmeen on the occasion of Ist Navratra would be carried to Merhada Mata on September 24.
