Dr. Manohar lays foundation of tubewell at village Mela

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 22-Minister for Cooperatives and Higher Education, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has said that coalition government is making concerted efforts to improve basic infrastructure in the far-flung and remote areas of the state.
This was stated by the Minister while laying foundation of a tubewell at Village Mela in Hiranagar, to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh under Tubewell Irrigation Scheme.
Senior officers of PHE, PDD, R&B, RDD and I&FC accompanied the Minister.

He said that after the completion of tubewell in village Mela, the scarcity of drinking water problem of the area would be solved. He asked the executing agency to complete it within stipulated time frame for the convenience of general masses.
Responding to the demand of the locals, he also announced one handpump for the same village at Hiranagar. He said that coalition government is fully aware of the problems of the people and is making tireless efforts to fulfill all aspirations of the people at their doorsteps by providing them road connectivity, health, education, drinking water, electricity and pensions. He said the centre government has approved Rs. 5500 crore for speedy execution of development works in the state keeping in view the special requirement of the state besides Rs 1200 crore under PMRP for creating durable assets in the state.
Later, the Minister also visited the Eidgahs at Phinter and Dramani and celebrated Eid with people. He extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to the Muslim brethren on Eid-ul-Fitr.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sharma said that Prophet Mohammad gave us the eternal message of love, compassion and universal brotherhood. He said” This day should not only be a new beginning in the spiritual, cultural and moral life of Muslims, but for all of us." He said that Eid-ul-Fitr symbolises compassion, brotherhood and the spirit of sharing and hoped that the festival fills the lives of the people of the state with peace, prosperity and harmony.
