Medical Records to be computerized soon

Srinagar, September 23- Stressing on the need to further improve the patient care, Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma said that all those involved in the health care sector have to work with highest standard of professional ethics and missionary devotion so as to make various flagship programmes of health sector successful in real terms.
Commissioner/Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Mr. Atul Duloo, Director, Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. M.A. Wani, Director NRHM and other senior Sectoral level officers participated in the meeting.
Speaking at the review meeting, the Minister underlined the importance of record keeping in the hospitals and ordered that all district hospitals should be computerised within one month. He said that record is essential for efficient patient care and with computerisation proper records would be maintained which will go a long way in better health care management. He added that soon a website of the department would be launched which will further help in disseminating information to the required levels.
The Minister said that with the active support of Central government, the sector is bound to get revamped and everybody has to perform up the highest level of professional efficiency so that the results of various health programmes are visible at the ground level. Emphasizing on the need to fine tune the department at various levels, he added that punctuality and professional work culture should be watch words for all those working in health sector. He assured that keeping in view the requirements of different health care institutions rationalisation of staff would be done.
The Minister later interacting with the officers listened to problems being faced by them and assured that government is aware of infrastructural and other constrains under which the doctors have to perform and the increased budgetary support will do away with the impediments.
