| Wage Board for scribes reaching J&K on Oct 8 | | | Early Times Report Srinagar September 24- To fix and revise the wages of working Journalists and other newspaper employees, the National Wage Board has been constituted under Working Journalists and other Newspaper Employees (Condition of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1955. According to the department of Labour and Employment, the board is currently in the process of revising the wages and has started consultations with the representatives of working journalists and other newspaper employees. The Board has also decided to visit all the States of the country in this regard. Accordingly the Board is scheduled to visit Srinagar from October 6 to October 8, 2009 and Jammu from October 8 to 11 and would meet the representatives of stake holders and workers unions of news print industry in Urdu, English and Hindi on October 7 in Srinagar and on October 9 in Jammu. The Board is holding meetings and would also invite written suggestions and proposals from any person connected with print media through Directorate of Information.
