| Now log your complaints online, CM’s grievance cell is functional | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 24: After an initial technical aberration, the ambitious project of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah seeking to take him closer to the people for redress of their grievances has started functioning and is being logged in. The multi-facility grievance redressal cell was launched by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on September 4 but it did not work as the officials had not properly briefed about pending works on portal and tell free number. This was reported by the Early Times in September 6 issue following which urgent measures seem to have been taken by the technical team to make the grievance cell more people friendly than what earlier it was envisaged for. With technical upgrades, all three options of lodging complaints with the Chief Minister’s office have been made fully functional. A user friendly website with instant response on complaint numbers have been put online and can be accessed at www.jkgrievance.nic.in The cell which is connected with 120 Community Information Centre (CIC) in as many Rural Development Blocks, is presently receiving complaints through these CICs and through toll free number 18001807003 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm on all working days. The complaints received in the cell are being segregated, analyzed and transferred to the concerned departments for reply/action within five days. The reminder for the pending complaints to the concerned is being communicated every Monday. An official spokesman claimed that as many as 1465 complaints have been registered in the grievance cell since its launch by the Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah on September 4, 2009. Of these about 400 complaints have been disposed off and the action taken conveyed to the concerned, while as action taken on rest of complaints is in various stages of progress and receiving of reply from various government departments. However, the requests regarding the employment and transfers are not entertained in the cell and people have been asked not to make any such requests.
