| Aijaz reviews Hajj arrangements | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25- Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan reviewed the arrangements being made for the ensuing Hajj pilgrimage at a meeting of officers here today. Deputy Inspector General of Police CID, Mr. Abdul Gani Mir, Regional Passport Officer Srinagar, Mr. B. S. Manavalan, officers of Revenue and other departments besides representatives of State Hajj Committee attended the meeting. The Minister took stock of the training being imparted to the intending pilgrims and the flight schedules. He asked the officers to streamline the process and services being provided to the pilgrims by the official volunteers (Khudaam-ul-Hujjaj). Mr. Aijaz specifically emphasized on imparting emergency management training to the pilgrims so that they don’t face any difficulty while facing any eventuality during Hajj. The meeting was told that the State Hajj Committee this year received 21000 applications out of which 6051 have been selected to perform the Hajj for whom almost all formalities have been completed. The meeting was also told that the process of selecting additional 1500 intending Hajj pilgrims is on.
