| Akhoon, Sham reviews health sector of Kargil in officers meeting | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25- Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CA&PD) & Transport, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon held a meeting with Minister for Health & Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma and discussed various issues relating to health sector in Kargil district. The meeting was also attended by Commissioner Secretary, Health, Mr. Atul Dullo, Director, Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. M. A. Wani and Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Kargil. Referring to change of nomenclature of MACs to Sub Centers, Mr. Sharma said that the matter has already been taken up with the Union Government. He directed the Director Health Services, to submit a proposal for change of Allopathic Dispensaries to Primary Health Centers, Creation of ANM posts for 28 Centers, District Health officers, Food Inspectors, Drug Inspectors, Senior Stenographers and drivers. The Director was also asked for allotment of one more vehicle for district hospital Kargil. He said that the creation of Anesthetists for Sub District Hospital, Drass is under the consideration of government. The Health Minister also instructed for posting of specialists in District Hospitals and Community Health Centers especially Surgeons, Gynecologists & Pediatricians with in 15 days. With regards to posting of doctors of Kargil in their home district, the Minister asked the Commissioner Health and DHS to submit list for appropriate action. He also assured that reservation quota for Scheduled Tribe doctors of Kargil district will be maintained at the time of DPC. Deputy Chief Medical Officer was asked to take services of any retired Gynocologist for district Hospital Kargil if available at the remuneration of Rs. 40 thousands per month. He was also asked to advertise for hiring MBBS doctors in far flung areas under NRHM. He was further directed for preparation of proposal for creation of new sub-centers and primary health centers in Kargil district. Director Health was also instructed for holding free eye camps in Kargil district and asked him to send teams of doctors for conducting cataract operations. In this connection Deputy Chief Medical Officer Kargil was asked for registering the patients.
