SRINAGAR SEPTEMBER 25- A valedictory function of Golden Jubilee celebrations of Indian Mountaineering Federation (IMF) was held at SKICC today.
The function was attended by Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora, Miniter for Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R. S. Chib, Union Secretary for Youth Affairs, Jayanti Chandra Ji, Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Mrs. Tanveer Jahan, President IMF, Major Ahluwalia, Directorm, Tourism Kashmir, Mr. Farooq Shah, Vice Principal IMF, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf, Secretary, IMF, Col Chouhan, and members of IMF.
Addressing the function, Mr. Jora said that IMF is doing yeoman service in providing required atmosphere for Mountaineers to go for this strenuous expedition. He said that State Government has taken several initiatives for encouraging adventure tourism. He welcomed mountain lovers to explore each and every peak of the mountains and enjoy the harmony and hospitality of Kashmir.
Mr. R. S. Chib on this occasion said that it is matter of pride for J&K State to host Golden Jubilee celebrations of IMF.
Welcoming opening of first office of IMF in Srinagar, Mr. Chib said that the department of Youth Services and Sports shall render every possible service to IMF in strengthening the federation in the state.
He appealed Union Secretary to come forward in reconstruction of sports infrastructure of the state.
Secretary Tourism, Mrs. Tanveer Jahan, Director Tourism, Mr. Farooq Shah and other dignitaries also addressed the function.
