Randhir for introduction of Police Commissioner’s system in J&K

Jammu, Sept 25- Former minister and president Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Thakur Randhir Singh has demanded introduction of Police Commissioner’s system in Jammu and Kashmir on the pattern of Delhi, Mumbai and other states.
Addressing media persons here today, Randhir Singh said land grabbing nexus of some corrupt police officials, criminals and corrupt politicians in J&K is responsible for frequent daylight murders one after the other for the last five years.
He, however, welcomed the bold action taken by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to set up an enquiry to investigate the recent Amandeep murder case and called for affective police reforms and introduction of police commissioner’s system in J&K.
Referring to the controversy over establishment Central University in the state Singh said that if Central Government wants to remove regional imbalances, two Central Universities and two Indian Institutes of Managements be setup for Jammu as well as in Kashmir region simultaneously.

BJP demands six months free rations to drought his farmers
Jammu, Sept 25- The State Unit of BJP has reiterated its demand of declaring entire Jammu region as drought hit and demanded six months free ration including cash assistance to the affected farmers.
The party general secretary Bali Bhagat stressed for introducing crop insurance scheme in the state besides setting up fodder banks at all block levels for the live stock.
In a statement the BJP leader alleged that all the development works in Ramban district have come to standstill due to non availability of funds. He charged the coalition government of its failure in all fronts and maintained that since the present government cane into power the peoples’ problems have increased. He said that despite lapse of seven months six months of the current fiscal the government is yet to convene the District Development Board meeting to finalize the annual plan of the district.
