| Panun Kashmir says , nothing to do with Govt’s Apex committee | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 25- Refuting the Government’s claim that President of Panun Kashmir attended the Apex Committee meeting held on September 24, the Organization has made it clear that it is committed to the establishment of Home Land in Kashmir as per Margdarshan Resolution which is the manifestation of the 700 years of struggle of Kashmiri Hindu community which had to face seven exoduses till date. Strongly criticizing the government for issuing false and fabricated story, PK in a statement said that the matter of the fact is that representatives of Panun Kashmir had publicly disassociated themselves from the so-called Apex Committee, formed by the government on the issue of return, on the very next day of its formation. Panun Kashmir also rejected the constitution and existence of the said committee. We consider the act of spreading falsehood by the government mischievous and motivated that is aimed at creating confusion among the people, especially Kashmiri Pandits about the position of the leaders of Panun Kashmir. It is also tantamount to claiming credibility in favour of the said committee by the government on the issue of return. We condemn such nefarious design and conduct of the government in the most unambiguous terms, the statement added. The statement further said that Kashmiri Pandit community is a victim of the historical intent of ethnic cleansing in Kashmir. It remained always a victim of political marginalization, economic squeeze and social exclusion in Kashmir. The forced exodus of the community in 1989-90 was a pre-planned conspiracy hatched by the Muslim fundamentalists and terrorists who received open support from the State of Pakistan in their crimes against humanity in Kashmir. The Central and the state governments have always shied away from the facts of genocidal action that was committed against the Pandits by the Islamic terrorists in Kashmir. They have been doing so only on the peril of the national security and national will on Kashmir. The return and retention of the Pandit community in the valley need not be evoked and undertaken on the grounds of compassion by treating the whole issue as an economic issue. The right of the indigenous people of Kashmir- the Kashmiri Pandits- on the territory of Kashmir is inalienable and non-negotiable. PK demands that the government of India should immediately intervene in the matter and stop the state government from any misadventure in the name of return, the statement further said. The statement further added that the return and rehabilitation are two separate issues and as such needed to be dealt separately The sensitive issue of Return is a political issue and needs be dealt in the context of the affirmation submitted by the Standing Council of the government of India before the National Human Rights Commission that the resolution of the issues of displacement and return of the community should be resolved on an appropriate political level.
