| DDC reviews working of banks in distt Samba | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 25: The Lead Bank office of SBI Samba organized DLRC/DCC meeting of bankers and distt. Officers of various Govt. Departments of the distt. And reviewed the flow of credit under ACP-2009-10, performance of Banks in key areas relating to deposits advances and priority sector landing for the quarter ended June 2009.
The District Development Commissioner, Saurabh Bhagat who chaired the meeting had thread bare review of SGSY/JKSES/SC-ST-OBC/KVIB/KVIC/DIC/SJSRY etc with special emphasis on prime minister for Employment Guarantee Scheme, small & medium enterprises DRI, SHG’s, KCC, Swarozgar credit cards, women beneficiaries in general and financial literacy in particular.
Bhagat called for more concerted efforts form Banks to give requisite fillup to rural credit dispensation particularly to Agriculture and SHG’s.
Lead Distt. Manager, RK Mehta apprised that sum of over Rs. 30lacs were disbursed upto June 2009 out of which Rs. 18.31 cr was dispense under priority sector covering Agriculture/Small enterprises/micro credit retail/Housing, Education and others. Against a bench-mark of 40% under PS Lending. He said bankers in the District have achieved approx 70%.
