| JK children highly talented: Slathia | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 26-Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia has said that in the modern competitive age the youth of the state could not afford to leg behind as they have to compete at different levels to prove their mettle and equip themselves about the latest. Speaking at a public gathering at Vijaypur, here today, the Minister said that geographical conditions should not come in the way of introducing in identical working system in the educational institutions. Adding that the system once put in place would make the functioning of these institutions more efficient and vibrant. Slathia impressed upon the teaching community to work with missionary zeal and assured that government would provide every possible assistance to the institution to equip them with modern technology.
The Minister said that the children of Jammu and Kashmir are highly talented and given an opportunity proper guidance and enabling environment they can make a mark in various spheres on the occasion.
Mr Slathia expressing his gratitude to central leadership specially Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson, Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Union Human Resources Development Minister, Mr Kapil Sibal for the people friendly gratitude of griming of two central university of the state. He also congratulation to the people of his constituency for this achievement. The Minister said that the coalition government was committed to uplift the socio economic condition of the rural and far-flung area of the state. He said that Jammu and Kashmir is bringing on the world tourism map, he said that efforts are afoot to top the ever increasing pilgrims tourists to visit historical Purmandal and Utterbehani. Due to hot season this year he said that the instructions were issued to irrigation authorities to provide sufficient water at the tail of end for the benefit of the farmers community. Earlier, the Minister inaugurated the IKONS group 4th centre at Vijaypur. On the occasion, the Minister said that he is delighted to see that Vijaypur has a new chapter of education opening up with the launch of IKONS IIT-PMT academy here. He said that students of Samba district are the intelligent lot and are deprived of standard education, but with IKONS launch here I am sure that our student will get all benefits. He congratulated IKONS team of Vijaypur centre for successful launch of the centre.
