| Div Com discusses Raghunath Bazaar development project | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 26 – Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today convened a meeting of officers from various department to discuss the implementation of Raghunath Bazaar Development Project.
Taking stock of the works planned to be executed by different departments for the proper development of the prestigious market, Dr. Kotwal asserted that the main issues to be deliberated upon included beautification of pavement and laying of news electrical transmission lines besides erection new electric poles. He said improvement and modernization of power infrastructure forms the major component of the project.
Chief Engineer PDD, Mr. Ajay Gupta apprised about the works to be executed by them as well the mode and strategy being adopted for systematic execution. The other issues discussed included beautification of the pavement and main chowk of Raghunath Bazaar near Raghunath Mandir, footpath by laying of tiles and covering the drains with service line ducts on both sides of the market, laying of PHE pipes, cleaning of Bazaar by JMC and shifting of BSNL cables.
After threadbare deliberations with the concerned officers, the Divisional Commissioner asked for resubmission of estimates. He said the requirements should be worked out more keenly so as to submit the revised estimates. He assured to provide funds at the earliest so that the project could be started soon.
Emphasizing on maintaining liaison with the inhabitants, Dr. Kotwal said that for the smooth execution of the project, the entire work should be done in collaboration with the local people directly associated with the Bazaar. He said their cooperation is imperative for the successful and hassle-free conduct of work. He also stressed for coordination among the executing departments to avoid any sort of inconvenience to the public.
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. M. K. Dwivedi suggested for executing the work in a phased manner by different departments particularly PDD.
SSP, Traffic, S. Parvinder Singh, senior officers from PHE, R&B, JMC, NBCC and other executing agencies were present.
