| Symposium on ‘Gandhian way of life’ organized | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 26: A symposium on ‘Gandhian way of life’ was organized at Government College for women, Parade, as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations here today. Principal of the college, Dr. Savitri Sharma, faculty members and a large number of students attended the symposium while Jyotsna Abrol, manager J&K Bank, was special guest on the occasion. Twelve students participated in the symposium who highlighted the ideals and principles of Gandhi and the significance in today’s world in bringing peace and harmony. A panel of judges comprising Prof. RK Chadha, Prof. Sushma Mahajan and Prof Alka Sharma evaluated the speakers who participated in the symposium. Akrit Sharma was adjudged first in the competition while Rabiyat Kour and Alisha Paul were declared second and third respectively. Ankita Mahajan and Sugandha bagged on the consolation prizes. Principal while addressing the students called upon them to follow Gandhian way of life by adopting the values and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. The programme concluded with prize distribution, which was ably compered by Swdha, Sonakshi, Surbhi and Anushika.
