| NCC to organize national integration camp from Oct 3 to 14 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 26: The directorate of NCC is going to organize an all India National Integration camp at Nagrota camping ground from October 3 to 14, in which 500 cadets and 23 NCC officers including staff representing all the states of the country will take parts. Disclosing this to media persons here today, the Dy. Director general of NCC, ‘Brig Anil Gupta said the aim of the camp is to imbibe the true spirit of national integration solidarity and discipline amongst the participating NCC cadets by exposing them to the syncretic cultural heritage, national ethos and a spirit of patriotism, in the context of a resurgent and vibrant state of J&K. He said the theme of NIC Jammu-2009 is “Sahas”. Be it a devotee’s trail up the steep ‘Trikuta Hills’ for holy ‘Darshan’ or the exemplary grit of Dogra soldiers in battles innumerous people of Jammu region are known for their exemplary ‘Sahas’ i.e. ‘Fortitude’ especially in difficult times. During the camp the cadets will interact with each other by way of presentations and cultural programmes on their states alongwith group discussion and debates on various social related issues. Inter directorate competitions will develop spirit of teamwork, camaraderie and competitiveness with sportsmanship. Brig Gupta added that many high ranking civil and military dignitaries will be visiting camp and interacting with me young ambassadors coming from every nook and corner of vast expanse of our nation and added camp will truly present itself as mini India. The inauguration function will be held on 03 oct 2009 and will be presided over by Prof Varun Sahni, Vice Chancellor, Jammu university while divisional commissioner of Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal, will be the guest of honour.
