| Court rejects bail of accused allegedly involved in rape case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 26- Special Mobile Magistrate Electricity MK Sharma today rejected the bail of Rishu alias Hunny, allegedly involved in rape case of a minor girl of his Mohalla. After hearing senior public prosecutor appearing for the state, the Special Mobile Magistrate observed that the accused is involved in a serious offence of rape which is punishable with imprisonment for life or 10 years and fine. The victim is a minor girl of 16 years. She has been subjected to the kind of gruesome act by the accused on the false assurance for getting married and has been impregnated. This kind of act not only createed bad impact on the mind of victim but the child who is yet to born has to suffer the stigma of being illegitimate without any fault of his. In view of the seriousness of the offence, there is possibility of the accused running away from course of justice. Any concession of bail in such like cases shall encourage the perpetrators of crime. The large interest of the society demanded rejection of bail. With these observations Court rejected the bail of the accused. According to the police case the parents of the prosecutrix lodged a complaint with the police that accused committed rape upon their daughter with the assurance that accused will marry with her. The accused was arrested by the police. JNF
