Revenue Officers Association demands release of grades
9/30/2006 11:19:10 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORTER
JAMMU | SEPT 29
While appreciating the drive launched by the government to curb the menace of corruption from the administration, All Jammu and Kashmir Revenue Officers Association (ROA) has hailed the Chief Minister for his bold decision to promote 22 Naib Tehsildars as Incharge Tehsildars and demanded release of grades to the promoted officers.
In an emergent meeting chaired by Ghandharb Singh President, the Association has reiterated its demand for reservation of 35 per cent quota for the Revenue Officers in Kashmir Administrative Service and inclusion of non-cadre posts in the cadre of Revenue Department and time bound promotions for revenue officers. It was stated in the meeting that 18 Assistant Commissioners, 84 Tehsildars and 238 Naib Tehsildars have been promoted in their own pay and grade since long but no grade benefit has been provided to them.
The meeting felt the need for considering Revenue Officers against the posts of SDMs and Collectors as also grant of benefits under SRO 294 of October 2005.
