| Sikh Societies welcome decision for regularizing Refugee Basties | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 26- A conglomerate of Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Societies have welcomed the decision of the coalition Government headed by Omar Abdullah Chief Minister for regularizing and modernizing Refugee Basties. Addressing media persons here today, Gurdeep Singh Sasan, chief patron JKSSA also welcomed the announcement of Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla for enhancement of compensation for rural areas. Sasan also welcomed the bold decision of the coalition Government for reservation of admission in the Private Technical Institutes of Maharashtra and Karnataka for Refugees and also other initiatives taken for mitigating the suffering of refugees. He demanded formation of Minority Commission for refugees, reservation of job for PoK refugees, special employment package, provision of formation of a financial corporation for minorities, reservation of at least 8 seats in the Legislative Assembly for the PoK Refugees from among the total 25 seats kept reserved for PoK occupied area of J&K besides reservation in Legislative Council. Earlier, Sasan welcomed the decision of the Central Government for establishing two Central Universities in J&K and congratulated the coalition Government for getting these Universities sanctioned for J&K State. Among others present on the occasion were S Hardev Singh (Retd.) Deputy Director, S. Nain Singh, Surinder Singh, G S Datta, Jagpal Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Baldev Singh.
