| NC welcomes decision on opening two CUs in J&K | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 26- Jammu and Kashmir National Conference today expressed satisfaction over the decision of HRD Ministry for sanctioning two Central Universities to both the regions of J&K State. Talking to media persons here today, senior NC leader and MLC Ajay Sadhotra said that it is highly appreciable that the sincere efforts of Omar Abdullah Chief Minister has brought two Central Universities to the state of J&K. ‘This indicates that Omar Abdullah is a leader of word and he is committed to carry all the three regions of the state together and satisfy the genuine urges and aspirations of the regions’, he maintained. While hailing the decision of setting up of two Central Universities, Sadhotra thanked UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal for agreeing to the proposal of the state coalition government for grant of two Central Universities to the State. Sadhotra said coalition government led by Omar Abdullah is sensitive to the regional sensibilities of the state and in view of these sensibilities and sensitivities, the state coalition government approached the Union HRD Minister with a proposal to sanction two Central Universities one to be located in Jammu region and other in Kashmir region. He expressed confidence that in future the forces who are hell bent upon to disturb peace in the state shall resist from exploiting common people and especially youth and appealed the youth not to get mislead by disruptive forces.
