| CU at Valley at the cost of IIM shall not be beneficial for state: JSM (P) | | | Early Times Report Jammu Sept 26 – Welcoming the announcement of the Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibhal for opening two Central Universities in Jammu and Kashmir, several Jammu State Morcha (Progressive) leaders in a joint statement said that opening of another Central University in Kashmir Valley that too at the cost of an IIM is a hard bargaining which shall not be beneficial to the state at any cost. The signatories have strongly condemned the statement of Prof. Dalip Singh Jamwal, President JUTA demanding up gradation of existing Jammu University to the level of Central University. ‘It looks that Prof. Jamwal is playing in the hands of some agencies with vested interests and he is only looking for some financial and retirement benefits that are accrued to the teachers working in a Central University, they alleged. Meanwhile the signatories have strongly condemned the statement of Prof. Dalip Singh Prof Virender Gupta, H.B. Khajuria, Capt. Anil Gour, Dig Vjay Singh and Chandra Uday Sharma in their joint statement stated that the present happening about the opening of two Central Universities in the state reflects certain hard realities. The JSM leaders underlined that whatever the Jammu Province has so far achieved, was achieved only through struggle and nothing has been given automatically on the basis of so called equitable development of all the regions as harped by Congress, NC and even PDP.
