| Martyr Bhagat Singh birth anniversary celebrated | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 27: To celebrate the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the activists of youth congress, Jatt Youth federation, Sikh community here today. To mark the day an impressive car and scooter rally was taken out by the youths which were led by Manjeet Singh Jatt. The rally started from Gole Market and after passing Gandhi Nagar, Green Field, Vikram Chowk, Dogra Chowk culminated at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Jewel where the youth stage out a dharna against mayour and Jammu municipality for not installing a statue of Bhagat Singh at the Chowk despite demanding it again and again. During rally the several youth tied saffron turbans like the turban of Bhagat Singh and every vehicles participating the rally had Indian tricolor, on it which made the scene very joyful. The rally was flag offed by health minister, Sham Lal who asked the youth to follow the path shown by Bhagat Singh and other freedom fighter for the unity and integrity of the nation. He also highlighted the achievements of Bhagat Singh for the country. Addressing the rally Jatt threw light on the life of Bhagat Singh he said heroes of the freedom struggle like Bhagat Singh, Chander Shekhar Azad, Subash Chander Bose, Raj Guru, Sukhdev, Uddam Singh etc are being ignored and they are not being given that respect and honour which they deserve. He strongly demanded that a statue of Bhagat Singh should immediately be installed at Bhagat Singh Chowk or any other adequate chowk in the city. Vijay Singh Pathania eminent social worker of Jammu also spoke on occasion and briefed the youth about Bhagat Singh and he also advised the youth to get inspiration from the achievements of Bhagat Singh and other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our independence. Prominent other who were present in the rally were Sanjeev Sharma, Sunil Chowdhary, Bablu Chowdhary, Parkash Singh, Nitish Mahajan, Taran Singh, Jatinder Chowdhary, Manik Chowdhary and others.
