| Awareness camp on PMEGP in village Chanran | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Sept 27- To create awareness about the Prime Minister’s Employment General Programme (PMEGP) aiming at to generate self employment opportunities in rural and urban areas, a district level awareness camp was held at village Chanran in Kathua district today. B.R Chouhan State Director Khadi and Village Industries Commission while inaugurating the camp apprised the participants about the salient features of the programme aiming at generating employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban areas. The scheme is being implemented by the KVIC. He urged and invited unemployed persons and youth to join hands with the KVIC. He said PMEGP is one of the most important initiatives of the Central Government for tackling poverty and creating new employment opportunities for first generation entrepreneurs. He said the KVIC has provided Rs eight crores to the JK Khadi Board for the purpose during the current fiscal. Anil Sharma Incharge KVIC while highlighting the PMEG programme said that 60 NGOs registered in J&K adding that 3335 cases were provided assistance during the last fiscal.
