| Media exaggerates Kashmir situation: SA envoy | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar: An envoy of South Africa on Sunday blamed exaggerated media reports on Kashmir situation as the reason behind people restricting their travel to the state. "Media exaggerates Kashmir situation. It is entirely different (from) what media projects outside", said Francis Moloi, High Commissioner of South Africa at a function to promote golf in Jammu and Kashmir. He said in 2005 he wanted to come to play golf "But that time I was stopped by security agencies saying it was not safe to travel to Kashmir". Moloi along with other high profile golfers from India and abroad are here in connection with the Air India-J and K tourism golf trophy being played at the royal spring golf course on the banks of Dal lake. "Media has been projecting only wrong things about Kashmir. We have brought along 100 golfers from across India and abroad along with their families. Wives of most golfers went around Kashmir in the last three days without any security," said Harinder S Sikka, director (corporate affairs), Piramal healthcare, sponsors of the event. "The purpose of organizing a tournament here is promote Kashmir as a golfing destination. We have been able to get some golfers from Dubai and Singapore this time. We will make this an annual affair and next year more golfers from abroad would be invited", he added
