| Aijaz directs Wildlife authorities to capture, kill man-eater | | PCC spokesman expresses concern over authorities failure | |
JAMMU SEPT-3-Expressing serious concern over the Government’s failure to the frequent killings of people by a man-eater Lepoard in Rajouri district, Pradesh Congress spokesman Ravinder Sharma has asked the concerned authorities to immediately take effective steps including authorizing the local hunters to kill the leopard so that no loss of human lives takes places further.
In a statement he has said that several persons have fallen victim to this man-eater due to the callous attitude of the authorities concerned who have failed in their duty to check the havoc created by the leopard in Nowshera and Sunderbani areas of Rajouri district.
The spokesman has sought adequate compensation for leopard victims.
In the meantime Minister of State for Forests and Agriculture Aijaz Ahmed Khan has directed the Wild Life Protection Department to capture or kill the man-eater leopard that has been active in some parts of Rajouri district and claimed number of lives in the recent past.
The Minister has directed the Chief Warden Wild Life Protection Department to take immediate action in this regard and ensure the safety of the people of the area.
