| ISM doctors to celebrate ‘Dhanwantri Jayanti’ on Oct 15 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 28: The executive body of medical officers of Indian System of Medicine (ISM) is going to celebrate Dhanwantri Jayanti on October 15 in a befitting manner in the region. Dr. Jagdish Lal, President, Medical Offices Welfare Forum (MOWF) of Indian medicine in a meeting held said that the function of Dhanwantri Jayanti will conclude on October 25 and health minister will be approached to grace the occasion as chief guest. He urged upon the ISM doctors make people aware about the importance of ‘Ayurveda’ through group meetings, discussion with regard to health awareness, cleanliness, plantation of medicinal plants and treatment. The executive body also expressed great concern over the failure of directorate of ISM in implementing the third time bound promotion order in respect of all eligible doctors and not to use the policy of pick and choose method in sanctioning time bound promotion. The committee appealed the health minister to direct the concerned authorities to sanction the third time bound promotion in favour of all eligible doctors. Among others who attended the meeting are the representatives from Udhampur, Doda, Kathua, Rajouri, Reasi and Samba.
