| Labor minister meets workers in industrial areas | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29 -Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Mr Abdul Gani Malik visited the Industrial State Bari-Brahmana and interacted with the workers of various industrial units. Accompanied by Additional Provident Fund Commissioner, Jammu, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Samba and senior police officers, the Minister inspected Narbada Steel & EM Cure Pharmaceutical Industry, ESI Hospital, Bari-Brahmana and enquired about the working conditions and facilities being provided to the patient in the different wards of the hospital.
The Minister also enquired from the workers whether they are availing the benefits for which they are entitled under various labour laws. On spot instructions were issued to the officials/officers for obtaining record from the industrial units with regard to implementation of various labour laws for the benefit of the workers.
Mr Malik ensured the management of the industrial units for introducing ADD-ON-COURSES in the colleges which could provide the industries with local man power having essential technical know how.
Earlier, the Minister met the several deputations at Civil Secretariat Jammu where the people of various areas of Jammu region projected the problems of their respective areas including drinking water, maintenance of roads, lanes and drains, power supply, adequate staff posted in far off areas schools.
He gave patient hearing to them and said that coalition government fully aware of people problems and making concerted efforts to mitigate at their problems without any delay.
