Early Times Report JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29 - Road connectivity, drinking water, power supply and education are the priority areas of the present coalition government headed by dynamic and young chief minister Mr. Omar Abdullah, said the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. Surjeet Singh Slathia after laying the foundation stone of Bari Khad- Dharamshala link road today. The 2.50 km link road would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.07 crore under NABARD assistance and shall benefit about 1500 people living around the area who will have an easy access to Kaluchak- Purmandal road.
Earlier, the Minister was accorded rousing reception right from Bari Brahmana and was taken to a big motor cycle rally to the site of the function.
The people of the area put forth various demands including opening of three Anganwari Centres to the areas, construction of lanes and drains, upgradation of Middle school, Badhori to High school level, additional transformer, community hall, water tank, black-topping of roads, boundary wall at Cheer Khad school, construction of additional 2-room sets for Middle School, Badhori, construction of Shaheedi Gate of late General Baj Singh, etc.
Later, addressing the huge gathering at Shah-Da-Talab, Bari, Mr. Slathia congratulated the people of Jammu for the honest and sincere efforts of the Omar Abdullah in getting sanctioned two Universities one each for Jammu and Srinagar.
