| Chib reviews working of Dental College | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29 – Minister for Medical & Technical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Mr. R. S. Chib today visited the Indira Gandhi Dental College to take stock of the various developmental works in the College and reviewed the facilities being extended to the patients.
During his visit the Minister held interactions with the faculty and the staff members of the college where he was apprised about the various issues pertaining to the smooth functioning of the college .The doctor put forth their demands of promotion as per the DCI norms to streamline their promotion avenues and safeguarding their professional interests .They also requested him to take up the issues of filling up the vacant posts so as to ensure provision of adequate manpower in the college
Giving a patient hearing to the demands of the staff the Minister assured that he would take up their genuine demands and said that welfare of doctors and staff would be accorded a high priority adding that medical fraternity has to strive hard to provide best health care to the masses. He asked to keep themselves updated with the latest knowledge and technological developments in the field for achieving higher professional goals.
Mr. Chib also reviewed the various ongoing projects in the College and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the work on the various projects so that the best infrastructure and logistic facilities can be developed in the college .While discussing the issue of handing over of land from JAKFEED to the College authorities the Minister has directed the concerned authorities to complete all the formalities well in time and expedite the construction of make shift shed for the JAKFEED so that the work on new block of the College can be started soon. He visited various blocks in the hospital and also met the patients and enquired about the treatment being provided to them. Mr. Chib stressed on quality management and said that no laxity would be tolerated in providing better services in the health sector. He also reviewed the ongoing works on boys and girls hostel and upcoming blocks of the college .He asked the concerned officers to ensure proper monitoring for timely completion of these ongoing projects.
