| Harsh demands probe in selection of Sanskrit lecturers in Hr education | | | Early Times Report Jammu Sept 29 Harsh Dev Singh NPP MLA and party's Chief Spokesperson has urged upon the Chairman Public Service Commission to hold an enquiry into the alleged irregularities in the selection of candidates for the post of Sanskrit Lecturers made for the department of Higher Education during the last month. He said that the candidates had made a representation to the then Chairman PSC Shafi Pandit alleging violation of norms and suppression of merit, higher qualification and experience in the process of selections. He said that the candidates had alleged that the Selection committee comprising of three members included one retired Chief Conservator of Forests and one belonging to Medical Profession. He said that the candidates plea that two out of three Selection Committee Members did not know even ABC of Sanskrit but still they awarded marks to the candidates in the interview thus making a mockery of the selection process. Singh also said that the eligible candidates cited numerous instances where candidates with Ph.D degree and professional experience of 7-8 years were ignored and simple Post Graduates had been selected in utter abuse of the stipulated criteria and recruitment norms. Expressing concern over the alleged irregular practices, JKNPP MLA urged upon the new PSC Chairman to hold enquiry in the interest of justice and fair flay and further take appropriate steps to ensure transparency in the functioning of Public Service Commission.
