| Registration of elite animals under CHRS held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 30: A training programme on field performance recording of elite animals under central herd registration scheme (CHRS) was held at directorate of animal husbandry, Talab Tillo here today. The programme was aimed to make the field veterinarians aware about the implementation of the prestigious project which requires the identification of the elite (high milk yielding) animal possessed/ reared by the farmers in the province and rearing of male calves of such animals under the guidance of the local veterinarian. The improved cattle produced shall be inseminated with high genetic germplasm coupled with proper record keeping by the department. Director, animal husbandry Jammu Dr. Yashvir Gupta along with CAHO’s/ LDO’s and VAS’s from the Jammu province participated in the programme. The training programme was organized by the chief executive officer, livestock development board, NPCBB, in collaboration with the deputy registrar animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries, central herd registration scheme, government of India, New Delhi.
