| Environment awareness programme organized | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 30: Environment awareness programme in collaboration with government girls high school Resham Ghar Colony organized by the directorate of ecology, environment and remote sensing in the school premises here today. Students took keen interest in the seminar and also spoke on the use of plants and its role for soil and water conservation. Students on the occasion presented a skit on environment and planted sapling in the school compound along with staff members. On the occasion Dy. Conservator of forests RC Sharma of environment and remote sensing highlighted the importance of plants and on spot gave demonstration about planting techniques. Prof. Uma Sharma president Pitanjali Yog Peeth J&K who was the chief guest briefed the staff and student regarding medicinal value of plant with special emphasis to alovera, medicinal herbs and shrubs for preparation of ayurvedic medicine being used in our day to day life. At the end of the function the momentous were given to the students who stood Ist, IInd and IIIrd in the seminar and publicity material was distributed among the students and audience by the department of environment and remote sensing.
