| J&K Gujjars demands highest gallantry award for Rukhsana | | | Early Times Report Jammu Sept 30 Demanding the national recognition for Tribal girl Rukhsana who, with her sibling killed top ranked Lashkar –e-Toiba militant and injured other terrorist at Shahdara Sharief, Rajouri, the Gujjars of Jammu and Kashmir today urged union govt to honour the brave hearts with highest gallantry award of India and raising of a “Gujjar Regiment” in Indian Army. In a letter ,signed by the dignitaries of J&K Gujjars sent through Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation a premier organization of the community to the President of India Smt. Partibha Singh Patel, Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P.Chidambaram it has been urged to recognize this rarest, unmatched and extraordinary act of courage and bravery of the fearless young Gujjar girl from a tribal nomadic Muslim family who overpowered one of the top terrorists of lashkar and killed him. Giving details about the letter sent to Union government Dr. Javaid Rahi, Secretary Tribal Foundation said this is the high time to recognize the services of Gujjars of J&K for upholding the veracity and integrity of the state. He said we through this letter urged the Home Minister of India to recommend her with her sibling Aijaz for the highest gallantry award and fulfill over long pending demand of rising of a Gujjar Regiment in Indian Army. According to letter, “this incident of highest act bravery should be included in the curriculum in CBSC, J&K BOSE immediately so that our younger generation should take a lesson from a brave girl who lives in a remote village Kalsi in the border district of J&K. The Tribal foundation through letter also demanded that the State government should also honour Rukhsana and Aijaz –her sibling brother, and provide adequate security and other logistic support to their family , immediately.
