| Two permanent Judgesat HC take oath today | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 30- Justice JP Singh and Justice Mohammed Yaqoob Mir presently Additional Judges of J&K High Court will take oath as Permanent Judge of the J&K High Court tomorrow. President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil has issued warrants of elevation of both the Judges as Permanent Judge of J&K High Court. In this connection the Ministry of Law and Justice Union of India has issued notification for the elevation of both the Judges as Permanent Judge of the State High Court. The Warrant of elevation issued by the President of India and notification issued by the Ministry of law and Justice Union has been revived by the Registrar General. The oath ceremony will take place tomorrow in the High Court Complex Srinagar at 4:30 PM. Justice JP Singh born at Kehli Mandi, Samba did his LL.B in 1971 and was enrolled as pleader on September 15, 1971. He was practicing as an Advocate in J&K High Court for about 34 years. He was appointed as Additional Central Government Standing Counsel in 1987, Senior Central Standing Counsel in 1996, appointed as Prosecutor General Vigilance, Standing Counsel GAD for 7 years appointed as arguing counsel on behalf of state Government before elevated as Additional Judge on October 4, 2005. Mohammad Yaqoob Mir born on May 29, 1957, did his LLB in 1980 and was enrolled as Pleader in 1981 and Vakil in 1983 and Advocate in the year 1987. Mohammed Yaqoob Mir joined Judicial Service as District & Sessions Judge in 1993 after passing the Higher Judicial Examination. He remained posted Principal District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Principal Sessions Judge Anantnag, Additional District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Special Judge Anticorruption Srinagar, Principal District & Sessions Judge Baramulla and Registrar General of the State High Court. He was granted selection grade in July 2001 and was placed in Super-time Scale in April 2007. During his tenure as District & Sessions Judge, he attended “International Conference on Arbitration (ICCA) and elevated as Additional Judge of J&K High Court on November 23, 2007. With the elevation of Justice JP Singh and Justice MY Mir as permanent Judge of the State High Court, the strength of the permanent judges including Chief Justice will go to seven and two additional judges. The sanctioned strength of J&K High Court is 14 and five posts of Judges are Vacant. JNF
