| Security grid for valiantGujjar family in Rajouri | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sep 30 : At least ten police personnel would maintain vigil and 'guard' the house of a Gujjar family, who killed a Pakistan based militant and, injured another when their house was attacked by the militants on Sunday night in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district. ''Apprehending another attack by the militants to take revenge, a team of ten policemen have been deployed around the house of the Gujjar family, who after militant's attack on Sunday, scuffled with them, killed one of the militants, injured another and also snatched their two weapons including an Ak-47 and an Ak-56,'' police sources said here today. The family has been provided protection on the directions of senior officials and if required, the number of security personnel would be increased. Aijaz, 18 and his sister Rukhsana, 19 and other family members displayed an act of bravery on September 27 night and killed one militant who was later identified as Osama - a Pak national of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in village Kalsian of Thannamandi area. Sources said a reward of Rs 5,000 was also provided to the family by the police and offered the posts of Special Police Officers (SPOs) while their names have also been recommended for President's Award |
