| Manohar's SI aide arrested, cop punished for offering amenities to suspended officer | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 30: To get clues about the dirty money that exchanged hands in destrying evidence in Amandeep murder case, the Special Investigation Team led by SP Mubisser Latifi supervised by DIG Farooq Khan today arrested a Police Sub Inspector who is believed to be a close aide of the suspended SSP Manohar Singh. Meanwhile, a cop was today transferred to Murwah-Dechan area of Kishtwar for offering facilities to suspended SSP Manohar Singh in the lockup of Gandhi Nagar Police Station. The SIT and IGP Ashok Gupta are reported to have taken serious note of the cop offering amenities to an accused Police officer and therefore he was sent on a punishment posting, sources said.Sources said that the SIT arrested a Sub Inspector identified as Deedar Singh to elicit some information about of the money ex SSP is accused of having taken to tamper evidence and hatch conspiracy in Amandeep murder case. As per sources at about 12:10, a team of Police assisting the SIT lifted SI Deedar Singh for interrogation. The cop has been attached with Manohar Singh for the last three years and SIT is of the view that he would be instrumental to place the dirty money some where else.While as official sources informed that court has granted police remand to an accused FSL ballistic expert Sarwar Hussain Bukhari.
Meanwhile in another development SIT has conducted raid in Forensic Laboratory in Bikram Chowk area and has arrested some FSL employee besides took some sample.SIT is also burning midnight lamp to scrutinize other property documents of suspended FSL and police officers. Sources also revealed that taking strict action a Sub Inspector identified as Kamal Singh was dispatched to Marwah Dachhan when he installed a cooler in the lock up for the ex SSP Manohar Singh.Ex SSP was also being interrogated in the custody to know where about of the dirty money.Pertinent to mention here that with the statement of ex SP South Mumtaz Ahmed and two other lady constables it has been established that ex SSP Manohar Singh is instrumental of fudging of weapon and for the purpose he had taken huge graft.However, Nagar Singh and his brothers are still evading arrest even though SIT is conducting raids in his possible hideouts to arrest them
In another development the SIT today filed an application before the court of Forest Magistrate Jammu for seeking more police remand of suspended FSL Ballistic Expert Sarwar Hussain Bukhari. The accused Bukhari was produced in the Court by Inspector KD Bhagat.
The Forest Magistrate Yahaya Firdous, after considering the application filed by the SIT, has granted six days police remand with the direction that after completion of remand period, Sarwar Hussain Bukhari should be produced in the Court.. JNF |
