| SSP, two Inspectors appear on SIT radar | | Nagar, brothers move bail plea | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 1: As the muddy pitch of corruption and crime deepens, an officer of the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police and two Inspectors, one of them posted in Jammu district, are believed to be on the radar of Special Investigation Team for their alleged role in fixing up a deal with the already suspended and arrested Police officers and the family of main accused Jatinder Singh alias Raja for destroying evidence in Amandeep Singh murder case. Meanwhile, even as the Special Investigation Team has lodged an FIR against murder accused’s father and uncles Nagar Singh, Ujjagar Singh and Rakesh Singh, the trio at large has moved a pre-arrest bail application in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. A local court has issued notice for objection to the SIT counsels for the accused said that the brothers –Choudhary Nagar, Ujjagar and Rakesh –were ready to cooperate with the investigation and therefore should be released on bail immediately, if they are arrested in case FIR number 247/2009 of Police Station Gandhi Nagar. The application bail was filed in the court of Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, who transferred the same to Court of Second Additional Sessions Judge Jammu. After hearing senior Advocate Mohammad Aslam Goni with Advocates Ashok Kumar Parihar, Athesham Bhat and Ajay Singh Kotwal appearing for the accused, the Second Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul issued notice to Special Investigating Team (SIT) to file report and objections in the bail application. The bail application has been filed on various grounds seeking release of the accused in the event of their arrests as they are ready to cooperate with the SIT. Highly placed sources told Early Times that after interrogation of the suspended SSP Manohar Singh, Inspector Sultan Mirza, other officials and witnesses, the SIT has got vital clues about involvement of three Police officials including a SSP in fixing up a deal between Choudhary brothers and the docked Police officers for destroying evidence. Sources revealed that these three Police officers were kept on the watch and may be called for questioning on Friday. The SIT sources, however, refused to confirm anything in this connection.
