| Case decided after 15 yrs of investigation, trial Pak militant gets life term for planting bomb in a passenger bus | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 02- After about 15 years of investigation and trial, the Court awarded life imprisonment to a Pak militant for planting and exploding a bomb in a minibus in Katra on November 28,1994 killing 10 persons and injuring 43 others. The accused shall also undergo five years imprisonment u/s 14 Foreigner Act, the Court ordered. Third Additional Sessions Judge Jammu RS Jain awarded life-imprisonment u/s 302 and five years u/s 14 FA to a Pak militant in a much publicized bomb blast case which took place on November 28, 1994 in a bus which was going to Katra. According to the prosecution case on November 28, 1994 information was received from reliable source by Police Station Nagrota that an explosion took place in a Katra bound Bus No JK02B-3875 at Ramnagar Morh. The right side body of the bus was blown away and due to the explosion fire broke out in the bus resulting injuries to the passengers. Of 53 injured, 10 grievously injured succumbed to their injuries. According to the prosecution story some unknown enemy of the country had planted and exploded the bomb in the bus to spread terrorism in the state. On this information FIR was registered u/s 302/307/435/120-B RPC 4/5 Explosion Substance Act. During the investigation the Nagrota police came to know that a militant has been arrested by the RS Pura police who entered in the Indian Territory from Pakistan without any valid documents. The Nagrota police took the custody of Pak militant namely Sanaullah resident of Sailkot, Pakistan. On interrogation, the accused Pak militant disclosed his involvement in the bomb-blast and confessed that he had planted the bomb in the bus on the direction of ISI of Pakistan. After completion of the investigation spanning for about eight years, challan was presented in the Court of law on January 2, 2003 which was decided today. JNF
