| Balwant’s troupe is back from world tour | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 3: Natrang team returned from its International tour after putting up six shows in six different International Theatre Festivals. Briefing newsmen here today Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that Natrang has become the first theatre group of the country which has made a record by making it to the six International Theatre Festivals. Sharing his experiences about the tour, Natrang Director further informed that the exposure which the group has got will have its visible impact on the work and approach of Natrang and Jammuites will witness lot many International blockbusters from Natrang. He said the thrust will now be more on producing International class productions as the group is likely to receive series of invitations from the whole of the world theatre events. The group had left Jammu on September 18 and performed its first show of Dogli play Ghumayee at Yoroslov. He said Natrang actors were amazed to see the professional working of the theatre event designers and the unexpected overwhelming response of the audience. He said in Germany at the Frankfurt International Theatre Festival, the audience gave a standing ovation and kept clapping for over fifteen minutes to the Natrang actors. The Council General of India who was also one among the audience invited the group to Germany to put up multiple shows in others important cities of Germany and expressed heartiest gratitude to the group for spreading the true essence of Indian culture and the creativity.
On their return the team was given a rousing welcome at Jammu airport here today and they also shared their life-time experiences with the people gathered there. Those who participated in the International tour, besides Balwant Thakur, included Anil Tickoo, Suraj Singh, Vikrant Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Sunit Kumar, Sat Salarbi, Tajasvi Sharma, Sumeet Sharma, Renu Kumari, Aarushi Thakur, Mohit Sharma, Pawan Verma and Rohit Verma.
